Swell Skates Comparison
Who are Swell skates intended for?
The Swell is Powerslide’s top-performing soft-boot, targeting fitness and cross-training skaters. The footwrap is firm and close to the foot, increasing energy capture and energy transfer over the recreational fit of the Phuzion boots.
The Swell has improved with each generation with improvements that include re-shaped cuffs, wider toe boxes, and longer frames on larger sizes. Multiple fitment options have been added, pressure points were eliminated, comfort and performance enhanced, and stability at high speed was increased. These improvements, among others, were made so that we can skate better and for longer.

There are currently 4 different versions of the Swell boot. Here we compare the different options so that you can better know and understand pricing differences and be better equipped to choose the Swell that suits you best.
Swell Lite Skate
The Lite is the only version with removable, dual-fit MyFit Liners. These well-known liners mold naturally with use or can be heat-molded to personalize fit (in the heel and ankle areas).
The benefit of course is that liners wear out and being removable, they can easily be replaced with new ones if/when needed. A neoprene toe allows them to comfortably stretch to accommodate multiple sizes (dual-fit), making them easy to size.
A replaceable liner has a more casual fit than a fixed (integrated) liner. The Swell Lite is perfect for Recreational fitness skaters or those progressing to more performance-oriented cross-training skates. Although benefiting from a firm knit upper wrap, a removable liner can have some movement within, resulting in a loss of energy transferred to the wheels.
Swell Regular Skate
The basis of all Swell boots, the standard Swell has integrated liners (non-removeable) for a closer, firmer fit. This works to capture and transfer energy more efficiently, enhancing performance. Having a singular size also means that more effort to measure your feet should be completed before selecting your size. These models can utilize multiple construction methods including Power Kit Upper and Welding Technology.
Power Knit Uppers have been used for many of the early models. New weave patterns and variations are used as the years progress. Power Knit Uppers are light, breathable, and highly effective at providing a precise fit with zonal support that has both comfort and performance, while also adding breathability.
Welding technology uses integrated seamless ultra-light and breathable nylon mesh to reduce weight. It adapts to different foot shapes, wrapping seamlessly around your foot like a flexible second skin. TPU material, welded by heat to the upper adds an extra layer (without stitching) for more reinforcement, support, and protection of the material.
Swell 3D Adapt Skate
3D Adapt options were released late in 2021. The first of its kind by means of a new way to construct and manufacture skates. The traditional method of stitching foams has been replaced by different densities of casted polyurethane. 3D Adapt Padding is a new patent-pending comfort padding, it is fully anatomically cast and shaped around the foot. It has a harder anatomically designed bottom for support, and softer PU tongue and PU ankle padding for increased comfort. This 3D Adapt technology offers superior comfort, longer-lasting padding, and therefore better value as it won’t break down over time, like regular liner padding.
Swell Aerofit Skate
Aerofit Skates utilize an inflatable airbag within the liner cuff. The design is to help to fill any gaps between shell and foot, improving performance by giving better control and push but also helping with comfort taking away pressure from parts around the foot. Additionally, this feature helps to custom fit the length and even width of the boot to make it fit perfectly to your individual feet.
Conclusion
The Swell collection is a series of high-performance skates for the high-performance skater. By implementing technologies previously only found in professional speed skates, these skates are created for your comfort and performance. In each skate, you will find lightweight and comfortable inventive padding with ample ankle support. Mounted on a durable aluminum frame with the Trinity 3-point mounting system.
